Definiton 1: “A state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority.”
Definition 2: “Absence of government, and absolute freedom of the individual, regarded as a political ideal.”
Anarchy; of Greek origin “ar-khos”, meaning “without-ruler”.
We’re going with “definition 2”.
To all anarcho-________ (insert faction of choice here): We are citing an article that we labeled the “Anarchy Blueprint”, that every anarchist needs to read. This brilliant piece originally titled “11 Things Every Anarchist Should be Doing” by Justin King at The Fifth Column News, is one of the most concise, yet profound pieces of modern libertarian/anarcho briefs we have seen yet. And it hits the nail on the head. Hard. For everyone.
King’s intro serves as a swift and quick lead into an absolutely poetically balanced guideline;
“Anarchism. It’ll happen if we just wish hard enough, right? Or should we begin taking concrete steps to hasten its arrival? If you believe anarchism will suddenly appear as a viable society because we want it to, or because the inevitable collapse of the current unsustainable system will usher it in, you’re dismissed. Bringing about an idea as revolutionary as self-government will take work. For many of us, we are probably planting the seeds of a shade tree we will never have the pleasure of sitting under. The process must begin and it must continue. Below is a list of things every anarchist, regardless of hyphen, should begin engaging in. The activities will speed the arrival of anarchism, or protect you during what will be a turbulent period of adjustment. Below the suggestions are anticipated objections or questions from various schools of thought.”
The 11 steps that are listed next, serve as a perfectly balanced mechanism that meets the demands of all forms of anarchy, united together, methodically (and more importantly) against the state. King highlights necessary actions of a revolution, beginning with individual action, and leading to a natural collectively stateless organism.
We can’t express enough, to all anarchists, how pertinent it is to understand and digest this piece.
Upon reading alone, it gives a powerful encouraging source for unity under one anarchist capital banner. And this is something that this movement desperately needs at the moment. Read the full article here.
