The Solution to our Problems is in Our Past with Sherriff Mack

Today, the Two Mikes spoke again with Sheriff Mack from Arizona. Sheriff Mack is a

constitutional sheriff, not an elected sheriff. He has spent his long career in law-enforcement

operating on the basis that he, and other constitutional sheriffs, are in their positions to serve,

protect, defend and help “the people” and not to do the bidding of politicians and the wealthy.

This is not a position welcomed by many politicians and other influential people, but the

sheriff’s support for peoples’ rights are at the core of the U.S. Constitution. In fact, Sheriff Mack

and several other constitutional sheriffs took a legal case about the defense of 2nd Amendment

rights all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, in a case called Mack-Prinz vs. The U.S. (June

1997), and they prevailed. The case’s opinion was written by Justice Scalia and today that

opinion is regarded as one of the greatest victory for the rights of Americans that are spelled

out in the 10 th Amendment to the Constitution. The decision

Among the other points made by Sheriff Mack were:

--One of the problems for constitutional sheriffs and all law enforcement officers is that

when attending training academies before going on duty, they are provided will almost no

instruction about the U.S. Constitution. Rather, they are taught case law which does little

to provide a full understanding about their direct responsibility to protect the

constitutional rights of all Americans as provided in the Constitution.

--There also is little effort to ensure that there is a clear understanding that they are not in

the business of protecting “democracy” but rather they are to protect the Constitution and

the rights it specifies as belonging to the people, and those rights are invested Americans

and there “republic”, which has some of the attributes of democracy. America, however,

was in no way ever intended by the Founders to be a democracy, which they rightly

regarded as the last wagon stop on the way to tyranny. The current condition of American

politics underscores the vast and damaging ignorance of Americans regarding this fact.

That ignorance can be seen in the significant increase in recent years of political

movements and leaders which are eager to tear that republic apart – at times violently -- in

the name of democracy, when their leaders are really seeking authoritarianism

--Traffic laws, in many ways, provide little increase in safety on the roads, but they do

provide a lot of revenue for local governments and insurance companies.

--Sheriff Mack also is the leader of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association

(CSPOA), and great advocate of the Founding Fathers and their Constitution, and argues that

the solution of America’s domestic problems can only be found “in our past”, in the inheritance

left to us by our Founding Founders in their own words and in their state papers that formed

the basis of the American republic.

--Information about CSPOA and membership arrangements to join the organization can be
